revenge of the sith or backstroke of the west?

This is a pretty funny blog entry from this guy. Turns out he bought a pirated copy of the Revenge of the Sith and he got a little extra from the translators (who didn't seem to have much of a grasp of the English language).

bert is baaaaaaaack!!

Good news for Vancouver Canuck fans! Todd Bertuzzi has been fully re-instated by the NHL. He'll be at Team Canada Orientation camp next week and then at the Canucks training camp in September.

Needless to say there are grumblings from the Steve Moore camp, but what did they expect? Betuzzi to be take out indefinitely? Do you really think Bettmann will trade a player who is at best a character skater like Moore for an all star like Bertuzzi? Not a chance. Bettmann knows that if this league is going to attract fans again, it's going to be skaters like Bertuzzi who do it.

Anyway, click here for a good article from the Vancouver Sun.

Naslund to re-sign: report

Canucks star winger has rejected offers from around the league to remain in Vancouver: CKNW

Elliott Pap
Vancouver Sun

August 3, 2005

After two weeks of cryptic comments, all-star left winger Markus Naslund has apparently decided to re-sign with the Vancouver Canucks.

According to a report late Tuesday night on Dan Russell's CKNW radio show, Naslund has chosen the Canucks over the many suitors interested in luring him out of Vancouver. The Canucks were not commenting Tuesday on the report.

The signing of Naslund might put an end to Vancouver's pursuit of Norris Trophy winning defenceman Scott Niedermayer, whose agent said earlier Tuesday that the Canucks were on Niedermayer's short list.

It's unlikely the Canucks could afford both Naslund and Niedermayer under the NHL's new salary cap of $39 million.

Naslund was tight-lipped Monday when contacted at his Swedish home, saying he "wasn't into talking" about his situation. He became an unrestricted free agent on Monday although the Canucks have had exclusive negotiating rights to him since July 23.
